Leggett & Platt has partnered with United Way for several years — but we don’t just raise funds for a good cause, we have fun while we do it! In 2014 we hosted a community-wide fall festival, held bake sales and raffles, even a dodgeball tournament. Leggett & Platt employees are committed to protecting and preserving the environment. We’re quite proud of the effort these teams have made through their commitment to the Eco Initiative, a program that provides guidelines for a proactive environmental management system.

In 2002, Leggett & Platt purchased a portion of the former Northwestern Steel & Wire facility. Following major renovations in the melt shop and rod mill, the plant began operating in early 2003. Sterling produces more than 500,000 tons of wire rod annually.
